Organization
The Mission Statement of the Port of Brookings-Harbor articulates the Port's purpose for both those in the organization and for the public.
The Commissioners, Management and Staff of the Port of Brookings-Harbor recognize their primary responsibility is to optimally manage the publicly owned assets of the Port for the purpose of serving the public interest by encouraging economic growth of the Port District as well as Curry County as a whole.
One of the mechanisms by which the Port of Brookings-Harbor ensures the fulfillment of the Mission Statement, is with the election of five Commissioners' of which there are three official positions within the Commission (Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary/Treasurer), from the district residents who serve for a term of four years, and meet on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Commission meetings are open to the public and the Port encourages residents of the district to attend and participate in the meeting by making the agenda available to the public ten days prior to the meeting.
Minutes are kept of the meetings and are available to the public from the Port of Brookings-Harbor Website.
