The Port district covers approximately 400 square miles from the mouth of the Chetco River, south to the Oregon-California border, north to the drainage of the Pistol River, and east to the Curry-Josephine County line.
The Port boundary is a 50-acre site on the south bank at the mouth of the Chetco River. The land area within the Port boundary consists of both public and private ownership.
Public land and water areas are controlled by the State of Oregon, U.S. Coast Guard, Curry County, and the Port
The Port is one of the larger commercial property owners in the county. With over 20,000 square feet of retail/commercial property for lease, the Port is the engine of economic activity in our area. The retail center, with 700 feet of boardwalk, enjoys community festivals almost every weekend of the year. Tourists enjoy the variety of small shops and services. The Annual Southern Oregon Kite Festival and the Slam'n Salmon Ocean Derby attract visitors from all over the United States as well as many foreign countries.
