The Port of Brookings-Harbor hosts a series of major events throughout the entire year. These events are fun activities for the whole family, generally with a theme and lots of opportunities to pick up souvenirs and a host of other goods. Most of the events feature music, food, beer gardens, and the opportunity to take home unique treasures from our area.

"Party at the Port" (Held at the Port of Brookings-Harbor)
Start your summer right! Come on down to the Port of Brookings Harbor to take part in the Memorial weekend festivities.
This event features live bands, local talents, a beer garden, artisans/vendors and a host of other May Day celebrations.
first Saturday in June - second Saturday in October
This is an exciting and highly anticipated Saturday market which will feature local produce, artisan breads, tasty treats, art and one-of-a-kind handcrafted items.
It will be located on the boardwalk at the Port of Brookings-Harbor. There will be local musicians to provide music guaranteed to appeal to all age groups. Farm Nutritional Coupons will be accepted by all the Farmers.
Bluegrass on the Boardwalk/Funky Foot Race, and Kids Boardwalk Dash
July 4, 2014
To make the 4th a special day, we have combined the Funky Foot Race/Kids Boardwalk Dash with the Bluegrass on the Boardwalk Event. The day will begin with a half marathon at 8 am, 5k and 10k at 9am and the Kids Boardwalk Dash at 10:30am. The Boardwalk Dash will be broken up into two groups, children ages 3-6 and 7-10. This is an action packed fun run/walk for the entire family. Along the course there will be a local band and water stations. Directly following the Boardwalk Dash will be the awards ceremony and plenty of great giveaways! These will be awarded to the participants of the fun runs. You will not want to miss this opportunity to win great prizes, this includes cash!!!
The race 5K, 10K and Half Marathon will have official chip timing!
Southern Oregon Kite Festival
July 19-20, 2014
The skies at the Port of Brookings-Harbor are filled with a display of magnificent colors as nationally and internationally renowned kite pilots entertain the crowds with their aerials, choreographed to music. The festival is a free event, held at the Port's Kite Field on Boat Basin Road, and has earned a "unique" reputation since it is one of the only kite festivals in the United States in which the kite flyers attend by "Invitation Only".
US Coast Guard Station Chetco River Open House
Come out and support your local US Coast Guard, Law Enforcement, and Fire Rescue Agencies at the 2nd annual US Coast Guard Station Chetco River Open House!

Fourth Annual Pirates Festival

Dog Days Afternoon
Come on down to the annual Dog Days afternoon at the Port of Brookings Harbor August 2014 (the date to be announced soon). Be sure to enter your dog into our our mutt strutt and strutt your mutt! There will be several different categories which include but are not limited to best dressed and owner look alike. There will be a photography booth where you can have your picture taken with your dog or your dog can have their own photo session and be the star of the show. There will be live music, food, drinks and several other vendors.

Slam'n Salmon Ocean Derby
August 28- 31st 2014 (Labor Day Weekend)
Brace yourself for one of the most exciting three-day events you'll ever experience, at the Port of Brookings-Harbor!
This festival is the largest ocean fishing derby on the West Coast where hundreds of fishermen flock to Brookings every Labor Day weekend for their try at a "trophy Chinook Salmon".

Harvest at the Harbor
October 11, 2104
It is coming to that time of year when happy Jack O Lanterns light up the evening skies! Please join the Port of Brookings Harbor on October 11th from 10am until 4pm for this special day of fun for the whole family. The Harvest at the Harbor is in conjunction with the Farmers and Artisan Market. There will be pumpkin carving , cobbler cook-off, apple eating contest, bounce house, hay rides and fun holiday kids games.
Santa's Port Stop
December 6th - Santa arrives at 12 noon. This event is cherished by children of all ages and the look of pure joy is apparent when Santa arrives on the boardwalk. As Santa always does, he "Ho, Ho, Ho's" while walking up the boardwalk making way to his chair under the large white tent. The kids literally "jump" onto his lap as they tell him what he can bring them on Christmas morning. There is plenty of hot cider and cookies for all to enjoy.
